FARMERS GAINING GROUND
AT EXPENSE OF LABOUR
LIKELY TO HOLD BALANCE
(Received 8.0 a.m.)
SYDNEY, Dec. 16,
As the country progresses it becomes more apparent that the farmers' representatives will be a very important factor in the new Federal Parliament, holding the balance of power. Their position has improved since yesterday. They are now holding four seats and leading in seven. The second preference vote in three electorates where Labour was leading, will probably result in the return of three further farmers' candidates.— A. and N.Z.
