MORE ROOM WANTED.
At the annual prize-giving and breaking-up ceremony in connection with the Wellington Girls' College, Mr F. Ward, the chairman of the College Board of Governors, emphasised the great need of accommodation. There were 600 students on the roll, and the numbers were increasing rapidly. The Government ought at once to grapple with the question of providing permanent accommodation for the instruction under one roof. The necessity of providing a larger playing area was also stressed by the chairman. It was not the Board of Governors on whom the •blame should be cast for this lamentable state of affairs. They were only too willing to face the question, but they were handicapped owing to lack of funds. They had submitted a scheme to the Education Board which would be. laid before the Minister.
