TAU HENARE AGAIN RETURNED
FOR NORTHERN SEAT,
The polling for the Maori elec tjpn yesterday was not very heavy and interest was not very keen amongst the European population. There were practically only two men in the race, viz, Tau Henare and Nau Brown. The result was a decisive victory for the sitting member. The complete returns for the country are as follows; — EASTERN. Hon. A. T. Ngata .... L. Returned unopposed. NORTHERN. Tau Henare (R) 2604 Nati P. Kawiti (Brown) .. 982 A. Ngakawa 135 A. R. Tuoro ...... .57 Wiri Henare 21 Five small returns are yet to come, but they cannot alter the result. WESTERN. Hon. M. Pomare (R) 2550 N. Katikia* . 1278 T. K.,Short. 566 T. Potena 542 H. Kaihau ...... 208 T. T. Taniwha 177 T. P. Kaiwini 47 K. Ahu 44 6. Paora 28 E. P. Chase 24 K. Watanui 12 There are twelve returns to come, but they are unlikely to alter the result.
