CHIEF JUSTICE'S REPORT,

WILL DIRECT GOVERNMENT,

WELLINGTON, This Day,

In reply to an inquiry the Prime Minister has intimated that when the report of the Chief Justice is received on the question of payment of a bonus to members of the Post and Telegraph Service, the matter will be immediately referred to Cabinet, and the bonus will be paid if recommended.

The Government will not oppose the recommendation of the Chief Justice, should it prove favourable to the claims advanced.—Press Assn.
