MARSDEN SEAT.

In pursuance of his candidature campaign for the Marsdon seat, Mr D. A. McLean, Independent Labour, addressed a meeting at Ruatangata East on Tuesday night, and though the public gathering was not large there was aothing lacking in appreciation. The chair was occupied by Mr C. Wbinip, and a vote of thanks to the Candidat<.! was unanimously passed. A very good rally of electors marked the occasion of Mr McLean's address at Onerahi last night, when Mr A. li. Mason presided, aud • throughout the proceedings were expressive of the utmost cordiality. Many questions were answered by the. Parliamentary aspirant, to the evident satisfaction of the querists and a vote of thanks, moved by Mr Ormiston and seconded by Mr Cockburn, was accorded amid acclamation. Mr McLean will deliver a policy speech in the Town Hall, Whangarei, to-night, at 8 o'clock, and iv view of the importance of present-day political issues there should be a full attendance of' electors.
