ARGUMENTS FOR THE LEAGUE
ENUNCIATED BY WILSON
(Received 8 a.m.)
NEW YORK, Sept. 24.
President Wilson, in a speech at Ogden, Utah, stated' that eighty per cent of the people in the United States were in favour of the League of Nations. Only the elements formerly tending to disloyalty are opposed to the Covenant.
President Wilson said: "We shall be serving Germany's purpose if the League is not adopted, because we shall be permanently dissociated from nations with which we have co-oper-ated in defeating Germany. Some critics of the League are looking backward. That's why they are stumbling. Their blood i s cold with the fear that someone will attempt to defraud the United States. No one is attempting such a fraud."—A. and N.Z,
