Dalgety and Company, Ltd., report having held their usual weekly sale of hides, etc., on Tuesday last.
Best butchers' hides, ox, 12d to 13_d; medium, lid to 12d; light, 10Jd; cow, best, lOd to 103 d; light, lOd to 10_d; yearlings, ll_d .to 12_d; calf skins; best, 17d to 19d; heavy and meaty, 12d to 15d; cut, damaged and dirty hides, 2d to 44 per lb below above rates; horse hides, 5/ to 12/ each; tallow, best, in, shipment casks, to £56 per ton, broken packages £45 to £50; horse hair, tail 1/5 to l/ 6„; mane, 10_d; bones, dry, £8 5/ per ton.
At Tuesday's sale there was keen competition among exporters for 'all lines not taken by tanners, «nd prices were frequently 3d per lb over schedule rates.
Rabbit Skins.—There is a good demand at prices ranging from 2/ to 4/ per lb for well-saved lots.
