WAIKIEKIE.

N.Z.F.U. BRANCH MEETING,

A meeting of the Waikiekie branch was held on Saturday afternoon. Present: Messrs C. Stcadinnn (in the chair), A. Mason, J. T. Stephen, H. Hayward, B. Berridge, James Stephen, E. Wilson, and the acting secretary (E. 11. Hilford).

On the motion of the chairman and Air A. Mason a vote of condolence was passed to Mr and Mrs Cubitt, owing to the death of their son.

A letter from the Auckland Provincial secretary re tho political platform was held over till mext meeting.

On the motion of Messrs E. A. Wilson and J. T. Stephen it was decided to instruct the seceretary to again, write to the Chief Postmaster askiag him to reply to part of letter left unanswered some time ago, re the mail transit. The meeting then concluded. FINAL MEETING OF DAIRY CO. On. Saturday afternoon the final meeting to wind-up the Waikiekie Dairy Company was held in the hall, Mr W. Berridge being in the chair. The meeting confirmed what had been done at the last meeting. At a subsequent meeting Messrs H. Berridge and E. H. Hilford were appointed liquidators to dispose of the property. MISCELLANEOUS. The cream cart has now made a start in taking cream to the Wairoa, and while there are some difficulties to overcome the cream seems to arrive there alright. The last two days have provided the best spring weather we have yet experienced this season, and the grass should mow come away. The new cook house at the Waikiekie'' tunnel is now in full swing, and is i proving a great boon to the tunnelers and others.

Things are booming at the Waiotira junction. The little engine has not made her appearance as yet owing to unforeseen troubles. If it is not a slip, something else turns up to. keep her back, and for the last day or two she has been off the rails.
