The stirring emotions of love and hate are screened with great effect and patrons may be assured an entertainment of great interest. Thero will be screened in addition the Eagle's Eye, episodes No. 11 and 12, which will in themselves supply much keen enjoyment. production

LECTURE ON SOCIAL PROBLEMS,

A rare opportunity is afforded men on Friday next in the special lantern lecture by Dr. Frazerhurst at the Parochial Hall. C.T. CONCERTS,

The catalogued items which are to be produced at the Commercial Travellers' concerts on October 9 and 10 bespeak great events, in which even the well-known entertainment catering capacity of the C.T.s has outbid all former records. Posters of distinctive design and artistic colour-blending, printed by the Northern Publishing Company, bedeck the shop windows and various hoardings of the town, appropriately heralding the execellence of the occasion. The beneficent work of the Knights of the Road, extending oven ten years, more than warrants reciprocal recognition of the present purpose, which relates to Telief funds, and the Town Hall should again be the venue of vast public concourses. Rarity of pleasure is guaranteed to Whangarei and district by the high calibre of all the performers, and the complete change of programmes provides against any semblance of monotony. It is clearly advisable, in view of the popular rush, to book seats at the earliest moment.
