BIG ORDERS CANCELLED,

CAIRO, Sep. 16.
The profiteers have assumed a d«fiant attitude owing to the re-intro-duction of control of prices for necessaries.
Several merchants have cancelled wheat orders and sent back twenty wheat ships to Upper Egypt. The butchers are refusing to kill.
In view of the prospect of a serious food crisis the authorities have postponed the new tariff for two days.—A. and N.Z.
