Major W. A. G. Penlington, tho Auckland officer responsible for the organisation, has been in Whangarei for a few days, and has arranged classes for commercial training, mo-tor-engineering and carpentry, and correspondence tuition is also being arranged. The carpentry class will itself build the workshop as part °* its training. Major Penlington is alive to the peculiar difficulties of a soldier's return to ordinary life after years of abnormal experiences, and he brings a warm sympathy as well as an alert mind to the problem. The object of this vocational training is to fit the soldier for the time of his discharge and for the supplementary work of the Repatriation Department.
