The informal warning given by Rear-Admiral Dristol to Turkey, forbidding Armenian massacres, has led to irritation at the French Foreign-Of-fice, which criticises American interference through its misisonaries, seeing that the United States refuses so far t§ acpept mandatories for any subject" nationalities in Asia Minor.
The American delegates at Bari§ have explained that the warning was purely informal, and that there was no ground for Turkish protests to. Britain and France that America yas threatening her,-—A, and N..Z,
