UNCLE SAM'S EXTREMISTS.

AUTHORITIES AWAKE

The recent nation-wide bomb plots have compelled Uncle Sam to initiate redoubled efforts to round up the thousands of radical Socialists and Bolshevists—"Reds" of the most rabid character—and to make the country worthy of living in, for widespread terror was caused by the diabolical attempts to destroy leading citizens of America by the Reds in their ghastly work recently (writes an American correspondent under date San Francisco, July 1).

It is felt that New York is the centre of this body of vile miscreants who believe in nothing short of sabotage of the worst typ*e in order to "down the bosses." Close watch of Reds and persons suspected by secret service men of being anarchists is the only thing that has so far prevented a further outbreak of violence in New York, and equal vigilance is being maintained in Chicago, Philadelphia, Pittsburg, and San Francisco. ~.■
