ITALIAN FIASCO.

ROME, July 19
The strike has proved a fiasco. Trams and trains continue all over the country, running normally.
Central and Southern Italy are entirely unaffected.
Signor Nitti, speaking in the Chamber, said he was not aware that the Confederation of Labour had abandoned the strike. The Government had mad* the fullest preparations to suppress disorders. —A. and N.Z.
