RAILWAY STRIKE ENDED.

WILD RIOTS AT LUTON

ARSON AND LOOTING

(Received 8 a.m.)

LONDON, July 21

The North-Eastern railwaymen have accepted terms of settlement.

Rioters at Luton set tire to the town hall, after raiding a garage and securing petroi, which they poured on the furniture. A raid was also made on a chemist's shop. The rioters assaulted the police with bottles, cut the fire hoses, burned the public records, and looted several shops. The military restored order and now occupy the town. The town hall was gutted. The damage amounts to a quarter of a million sterling.—A. and N.Z.
