FARMERS AND LABOUR.

PROPOSAL FOR CONFERENCE

At the provincial executive of the Farmers Union, the president, Mr J. Boddie, presiding, it was decided, in reply to a communication from the Auckland Education Board, to suppox*t the board's proposal to have an agricultural college established in Auckland. Following a discussion regarding the desirability of conferring with the representatives of Labour on political matters it was decided to instruct the secretary to arrange a conference between the executive and representatives of the Federation of Labour on the evening of the next meeting of the executive.

Messrs E. Harding and S. C. Joujineaux were appointed to represent the executive at the conference of delegates of various branches of the union and Labour representatives to be held at Wellington prior to the Dominion Farmers' Union Conference.
