CITY OBSERVANCES.
AUCKLAND AND WELLINGTON.
AUCKLAND, This Day,
The peace celebrations are favoured by perfect weather. The town is well decorated and the streets of the city are thronged by immense crowds, besides those taking part ii procession, which will be the biggest ever seen here. On arrival of the procession at the Domain, Colonel Porter will take the salute on the March Past, and the King's Proclamation will be read. The afternoon programme includes a football match, League Reps. v. Re- ■ turned Soldiers, and in the evening a soldiers' ball in the Town Hall.— Press Assn. WELLINGTON, This Day. There is fine weather, but a boisterous northerly wind for Peace Day. The city is gaily decorated. The trams from an early hour conveyed large numbers of people from the suburbs.. A monster procession is just now assembling and bids fair to be unique, containing many novel features. This afternoon there will be a sports gathering in Newtown Park, and dancing competitons and a fireworks display to-night.^—Press Assn.
