At 2 a.m. a French communique states: "Our troops continued unceasingly to pursue the enemy. We advanced far beyond the VervinsAvesnes road to the north of La Capelle, and southwards we reached the general line of Effry. Origny-en-Thierache. Further east we border the Thoa as far as Leuze, 15 kilometres north of Rozoy-sur-Serre. On the Aisne front we hold the general line of tthe southern outskirts of Signy Forest, thence to Wagnon, Vielstremy, Azerny, and Lahorge, realising an advance of over 1G kilometres beyond the Aisne. In the valley of the Bar our advanced elements are beyond Aignean-sur-Bar. We gained «-. footing south of the Meuse on the heights dominating Sedan." — A. andt N.Z. and Reuter.
