TERRIFIC GALE.

A WAIRARAPA RECORD

WELLINGTON, Nov. 9

A terrific gale in the Wairarapa is the worst ever known and has caused much damage. Miles of fencing have been levelled, telegraph poles snapped, and trees torn up in Masterton Park. The stone cross at St. Matthew's was carried away and the roof of the granary at Carterton was hurled on to the railway line.—Press Assn.
