Ali'veil Bueklunil aml Sous, Ltd., report: — * Ou Wednesday, July 18, at our weekly "Westfield fat stock market we sold beef to the number of 180 head, comprising 86 steers, 89 cows and hoifors, and 5 bulls. These numbers represented considerably less than an average yarding, the boisterous weather which has prevailed lately having something to do with the small entry. There was a keen demand, with a further advance in values. Choice ox sold to £2 12/, prime £2 8/6 to £2 11/; rough and plain beef, £1 18/ to £2 5/; cows and heifers, £2 5/ to £2 9/. Steers ranged in price from £13 10/ to £22 15/; cows and heifers, £9 to £18 2/6. The highest averages for steers were: Eight at £19 15/0 J 'eight at £19 16/3; nine at £18 7/(5; three at £19 2/6; eight at £i 7 17/6; four at £17; sixteen at £14 17/6; three cows at £16 16/8; seven eowa at £14 18/; ten cows and heifers at £13 12/6; fifteen cows and heifers £13 6/10. Sheep came forward in increased numbers, and generally the quality was ail improvement on recent markets. AU Masses met with a firm sale at late advanced rates. Extra heavy prime wethers made from £2 i/ to £2 6/3 (B'9 averaged £2 5/1); heavy prime wethers, £2 1/ to £2 3/6; medium to heavy prime wethers, £1 17/ to £2 0/6; light and unfinished wethers, £1 12/ to £1 16/; extra heavy prime ewes, £1 17/ to £2 0/9; good £1 10/ to &1 W t others £1 3/ to £1 8/6. 1818 sold. The few laittbs which came forward sold at ruling prices. Good prime

lambs, £1 6/6 to £1 11/, lighter £1 3/ to £1 5/6, unfinished 17/6 to £1 2/. 83 sold. We had a moderate yarding of fat and young calves, which sold at

late values. Choice veaiers arc wanted. Runners made from £7 to £7 12/6, for eighteen-month heifers. Heavy veaiers, £6 to £6 12/6, medium £4 10/ to £4 19/, light £2 7/ to £3 15/, small and fresh dropped 4/ to £2. SO sold. Pigs were again yarded short of requirements, and fully maintained late high values. Choppers made from £6 3/ to £8; heavy baconers, £5 to £"6; others, £3 18/ to £4 18/; large gofkers, £3 3/ to £3 18/; medium £2 10/ to £3, small £1 15/ to £2 8/; slips, £1 to £1 13/; weaners and suckers, 9/6 to 17/. 195 sold.
