LONDON, July 18.
Mr Bonar Law said that the Government had been influenced in its Meso. potamia decision by the undesirability of distracting the attention of the Legislature at this critical time' from the prosecution of the war. On the Foreign Secretary's repre. sentations the Government, decided that it would be detrimental to deprive the Foreign Office of Lord Hardinge's services.
