AN OVERCROWDED HOSPITAL.
AUCKLAND, March 13
At a meeting of the Auckland Hospital Board to-day the Superintendent reported that the hospital is overcrowded. Forty cases are awaiting admission. This is largely due to an increase in typhoid patients, and a large number of surgical cases. Tt was alleged that unnecessary delay had taken place in dealing with surgical cases, one case being quoted. Dr. McGuire asked for an inquiry, which the board agreed to hold.
