ENTERTAINED IN LIVERPOOL.

LONDON, Feb. 22,

The Lord Mayor of Liverpool entertained Sir George Reid (Commonwealth High Commissioner), and referred to the desirableness of closer relations with Australia. Sir G. Reid said that Australia would certainly welcome them as long as her independent rights of self-government were preserved. Sir G. Reid afterwards opened the Traders' Exhibition.
