PUBLIC NOTICE.

IX THE MATTER OF "The Mt*Qinipr:l Corporations Act, 1905," of "The New Zealand State Guaranteed Advances Act, 1009," and of the "Local Bodies Loans Act, 1908," and the Acts amending the same respectively. The Whangarei Borough Council hereby give notice that such Council proposes to raise:— I A Special Loan of £19,200 for the purposes of formation ana construction of Streets and Footpaths and for Surface Drainage of the Borough of Whangarei. And to make an Annually Recurring Special Rate of 25/30 of a penny in the pound on the Capital Value of all rateable property in the said Borough as security for the interest and sinking fund in connection with such Loan. II A Further Special Loan of £SOO for the purpose of constructing i a Bridge in Walton-street over I the Waiarohia Creek. And to make an annually recurring Special Rate of 1/30 of a penny | in the pound on the capital value of all rateable property in the said Borough as security for the interest and sinking fund in ! connection with such Loan. The foregoing loans to be taken up under the orovisions of the "New Zealand State Guaranteed Advances Act, 1909," and its Amendments. 111. A Further Special Loan of j £8000 for the purpose of acquiring a site (if necessary), l and building Municipal Hall, Library, and Offices thereon. And to make an annually recurring Special Rate of (1/3) onethird of a penny in the £ on the capital value of all rateable property in the said Borough as security for the interest and sinking fund in connection with such Loan. IV. And a Further Special Loan of £550 for the purpose (with the assistance of the Government subsidy offered) of acquiring the Bush Clad Hills on the West of the Borough or, so much of them as is now offered to this Council, as a Scenic Reserve and Park for the inhabitants of the Borough. And to make an Annually recurring Special Rate of (1/40) one-fortieth of a penny in the £ on the capital value of all rateable property in the said Borough as security for the interest and sinking fund in connection with such Loan. I The two last sums to be raised under "The Local Bodies Loans Act.. 1908." The expenses of raising loans and first year's interest in every case to be paid out of Loan. With reference to the above Loan Proposals, I THOMAS HERBERT STEADMAN, Mayor of the Borough of Whangarei, do hereby publicly notify that a poll of the Ratepayers of the Borough of Whangarei will be taken on such proposals on FRIDAY, the 10th day of March, 1911. I, FREDERICK WILLIAM TOTHILL, the Returning Officer for the Borough of Whangarei, hereby give public notice that a Separate Poll on each of the proposals as above se J forth and as publicly notified in the "Northern Advocate" Newspaper, published on the 31st day of January, 7th February, 14th February and 21st February, 1911, will be taken on the 10tt .OAY of MARCH, 1911, between the hours of 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. The polling booth will be at the Theatre Royal, Bank Street, Whangarei.
