VARIANCE
BITTER RECRIMINATIONS. IMPORTING TWO HUNDRED BUSHMEN. (Reecived Feb. 22, 10.44 a.m.) LONDON, Feb. 21. Mr Sinclair, Scottish Agriculture Commissioner, who has been touring Australia, interviewed on his arrival at Plymputh, spoke enthusiastically of Australia's prospects. In his opinion Australia was the saddest country he had ever seen, having regard to the labor problems confronting the Commonwealth. He said that he had never heard bitterer expressions used by employees to employers, oi* vice versa, than in Australia. The solution of the labor question jcbuld only be reached by increased population.
Mr Barber, Commissioner of Irrigation, interviewed, said that artesian boring would render droughts much, less serious. He predicted a "very promising future for Australia.
In response to a request for men for bush clearing in New South Wales, the Central Unemployed body of London is arranging to send by the Pakeha, on the 13th April, 200 men of good physique, character, and suitability, vntit further small parties to follow.
