WESTFIELD SALES.
Messrs Dalgety and Company, Limited, report having held their usual weekly fat stock sale at Westfield on the 15th as under: —
Beef. —An average yarding. The oemand was good at last week's rates. Choice pens of prime ox sold ;at equal to 23s per 100 lbs.; ordinary quality at equal to 22s per 100:; cows and heifers at equal to 17s to 20s, according to quality.
Veal.—A moderate yarding. Heavy gold at £2 to £2 15s; small, choice, 25s to 355; small, inferior, from 3s to 10s.
Mutton. —An average yarding. The demand was good and prices were higher than last quotations. Choice heavy wethers made 17s to 20s 3d; lair quality and medium-weight wethers, 14/6 to 16/--; "heavy ewes, T3/- to 15/-; light ewes, '9/- to 11/-.
Lamb. —A fairly large yarding. Good quality lambs sold at late rates. Heavy prime, 13/- to 14/6; medium quality, 10/- to 11/6; shorn, 9/- to 10/6.
Pork. —Small yarding. Choppers fetched £2 7s; heavy porkers, L'Ss to 38/-; light, 23/- to 27/-.
