Messrs Wilson and Wilson, auctionoars, Whangarei, recently secured a site for saleyards from Mr Henry Babe tipon which they are now having up-to-date extensive yards erected. The work'is in the capable hands of Messrs Babe and Rountree, under the supervision of Mr A. Stephen, and will l.robably be accomplished within about a month from date. That the venture will prove remunerative to the proprietors there is little doubt, as this is the centre of a large and stock-raising district, and a market in the district should prove profitabl-3 10 vendors whose market was formerly Whangarei.

FARMING NOTES

A successful experiment was tried here last week, namely, that oi" driving fat pigs to the port of Mingapai,

a distance of approximately 14 miles. From reports to hand it woul-.l appear that, given favorable conditions, farmers may safely adopt this method of

marketing pigs.
