A LIGHTHOUSE BLOWN DOWN.
The damage done by the storm at Ilfracombe amounts to £15,000. A dam at Newport burst, flooding the new dock works. The lighthouse at Porthawl was demolished by the gale. The railway between Chepstow and Portskewit. also a portion of the Taunton to Minehead line, were destroyed. The Nero bridge over the Dee at Llangollen was demolished.
