WELLINGTON TO CHRISTCHURCH.
A PROPHECY
Mr J. B. Clarkson. head of the firm of Messrs J. B. Clarkson and Company of Wellington and Christchurch, has returned from a trip to America and England. In the course of a conversation with a Dominion reporter, he happened to disclose the lively interest he had taken in aviation during the time he was in England, and from what passed it is very doubtful if there is any New Zealander who has a deeper and more comprehensive knowledge 'of aviation than Mr Clarkson. He made a point of attending most of the meetings held while he was away, and as he was in close tQuch with the firms that were turning their attention to the manufacture of mono and bi-planes, he was able to gain access to the inner circle. He counts among his friends Mr Graham White, the distinguished airman, and the late Hon. C. S. Rolls, whose death occurred only four or five days after Mr Clarkson had witnessed him fly. Mr Clarkson was one of the officials at the Wolverhampton meeting, organised by the' Midland Aero Club, where both Mr Graham White and the Hon. Captain Rolls flew successfully.
