AUCKLAND, Sept. 20

Dr. Findlay, who represented the Cabinet at the farewell to Hon. G. Fowlds. yesterday, is taking the opportunity of his northern visit to inspect the site of the new prison farm, which is to be established at Tokanui, about twelve miles from Tf, Awamutu. The area covers some twelve hundred acres, and it is to have the buildings, etc., ready for prisoners by the end of the coming summer. In many respects the institution will resemble that at Invercp.rgill, but will be on a larger scale, and the classification will be more complete. Under the Minister's prison reform scheme there will be classification, not on?y of convicted persons, but also of persons awaiting trial. Dr Findlay statt-s that his scheme, whe.-n brought into full operation, is calculated to begm with the arrest and end with the final reformation of the offender..
