WHANGAREI CO-OPERATIVE DAIRY COMPANY.
Suppliers from our district wer* 3 much pleased to see that shareholders as a whole take a lively interest in the doings of the company as evidenced by the attendance and inquiries at the last annual meeting, held on the L4th inst. The chairman, Mr H. Wake Un, in inviting shareholders to bring up any grievance, big or small, for discussion, met with quite a number. Yet, after an explanation that was ever at hand, wrong impressions were corrected and satisfaction given. The chairman's motto, "Care in time of plenty," is commendable, and we trust all details will still continue to be watched, for "small leaks sink great concerns." We also trust that all cream carting will be in the direct hands of the directors, and to be subsidised, if necessary; not for them to be subsidised by suppliers, or as sure as faith the thin edge of the wedge will be introduced for troub'e ahead. Nothing pleased us more than to note how the dignity of the company was upheld, and the directors' actions endorsed, together with a vote of confidence and thanks to the deserving. During last season the over-run worked out to Iβ per cent., which is rather high considering that the new churn installed is to introduce a further 3 per cent. HoweA'er, we look for improvement for the coming season.
