THE GUM MARKET.
Thebe iis an improved tone in the gum market, and prices are going up. Mr Geo. Patterson, in writing from America, we understand* said that the trade in America was not as bad as supposed, and from this it is thought the price would steadily improve. The output during the last 12 months did not exceed that of the previous twelve months, so that there has been no appreciable glut.
