Returns furnished to the Mines Department show that the Victorian gold yield for February amounted to 38,660 oz. gross, or 36,1970z. fine, valued at £153,756. Compared with the yield for February last year, this givea a decrease of 41480z. fine. The yield for the first two months, 1912, was 78,8380z. gross, or 69,9850z. fine, valued at £297,----276. This shows a decrease of 18,8860z. fino compared with the figures for January and February, 1911.
