Lawn Tennis Competition
The match between Takaro and St. Patrick’s in the Manawatu Lawn Tennis Association’s "B" grade competition, played at the week-end, resulted in a win for the former by 16 sets to nil. Details are as follow, Takaro players being mentioned* first in each instance:—
Men’s singles: A. Bo vis beat G. Joyce, M.j Rennie beat J. Stewart, N. Johansen beat B. Ryan, W. BoWden beat I. O’Connell.
Women’s singles: E. Francis beat M. McPealc, D. Simon beat N. Joyce, A. Te Puni beat P. Kneebone, A. Carter beat C. Kelly.
Men’s doubles: Bovis and Rennie beat Joyce and Stewart, Johansen ana Bowden beat Rvan and O’Connell.
Women’s doubles: E. Francis and D. Simon beat M. McPeak and N. Joyce,
A. Te Puni and M. Carter beat P. Kneebone and C. Kelly. Mixed doubles: Bovis and Francis beat Joyce and McPeak, Rennie and Simon beat Stewart and Joyce, Johansen and Te Puni beat Ryan and Kneebone, Bowden and Carter beat O ’Connell and Kelly.
