Victory Programme For Feilding

, Advertised in to-day’s issue is the pro* gramme for Feilding’s part in the Victory Celebrations. It is felt that all citizens will desiro to take part in fittingly celebrating what is one of the great events in history and it is asked that citizens will fully co-operate with the authorities. Programmes will be printed for the Thanksgiving Service and the singing will be lead by the Salvation Army Band. If the day is wet the service will be held in the Tivoli Theatre. Many citizens will remember the processions held at the end of the last war and it is expected that this time they will be excelled. The place of assembly will be in Stafford Street and Bowen Street (near the Drill Hall as indicated by the Marshalls). All organisations, R.S.A., H.S.A., H.G., A.T.C., E.P.S., W.W.S.A., Red Cross, St. John, Boy Scouts, Girl Guides, the pupils of all the schools, lodges and other bodies are asked to turn out in full strength. The public are asked to enter decorated vehicles and tableaux. The primary school children will not march in the procession but will be assembled at their respective schools and marched to allotted places to see the procession but they will march from there to Kowhai Park in charge of their teachers. Units will be dismissed at Kowhai Park after the parade by their respective commanders. It is essential that those taking part in either the parade or the procession be at the place of assembly at least half an hour before starting time. The public in view of rationing will require to make their own catering arrangements. Everything possible will be done however for the children. The public are also aftked to hoist flags, display as much decoration and bunting as possible and decorate premises with greenery.
