Japan Will Not Exchange Nationals
Received Thursday, 9.50 p.m. WASHINGTON, Mar. 10. The State Department has announced that Japan has rejected the American proposal for the exchange of Japanese and American nationals on April 1, but lias left the door open for possible favourable action later. There aro approximately 9000 Americans in Japanese-dominated territory. The number of Japanese in America is undisclosed but is believed to total several thousands. The proposal does not include war prisoners.
