HALT A DAY LOST ON AUCKLAND WHARVES Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, Mar. 10. An extended stop-work meeting was held by the members of the Auckland Waterside Workers' Union this morning and lasted from 8 o'clock until midday. Members of the national executive of the New Zealand Waterside Workers' Union addressed the meeting. It was extended to attend to urgent national business, said Mr. IT. Barnes, president of the Auckland Union. He -said ho did not wish to make a statement or make public any resolution passed. The business had been of national importance. Petrol for Stock Sales Tho Manawatu Provincial Executive is not satisfied with an official ruling that petrol cannot be granted farmers to attend stock .sales and intends to take the matter up with tho Ministei of Supply. The position is that farmers get petrol to take them to their main shopping centre once a week, but it is not always that the stock sales are held in that centre.
