W.D.F.U.

The February meeting of the Iviin-bolton-Kiwitea branch was held on Tuesday last at the home of Mrs. M. Perry. Mrs. W. G. Clapham presided, and expressed pleasure at the large attendance, at this, the first meeting of 1943. Two new members, Mrs. S. Hall, and Miss K. Williams, were welcomed. Members were reminded of the quarterly provincial meeting to be held in Feilding, also of the Inter-Provincial meeting at Palmerston North. It was proposed by Mrs. S. H. Lodge, and seconded by Mrs. C. L*. Williams, that the sum of £7 10s be allocated to the Housekeepers’ fund. Several letters of appreciation for parcels received, were read, from soldiers overseas. At the conclusion of the business, Mr. H. C. D. Somerset delivered a most interesting address on “Fascism” in Germany. Afternoon tea was served by the hostesses, after which votes of thanks were accorded Mr. Somerset, Mrs. and Miss Perry, and the hostesses, Mesdames Williams and R. P. Kilgour.
