Uncle Sam’s Record Wool Clip
Received Friday, 8.20 p.m. WASHINGTON, Mar. 4. The Agricultural Department has reported a record wool production for 1942 of 459,000,000 pounds. The average local market price for shorn wool is 40.1 cents per pound (about 2s 5d per pound N.Z. currency). The number of sheep shorn in 1942 is estimated at 49,784,000, and the average fleece weight eight pounds.
