Britain’s Naval Losses

(British Official Wireless.) (Received Friday, 9 p.m.) RUGBY, March 4. Replying to a question in the House of Lords, the Parliamentary Secretary to the Admiralty (Lord Brun tisfield) stated that British naval losses to the end of February were: Five capital ships. Seven aircraft carriers. 25 cruisers. 14 armed merchant cruisers. 94 destroyers. 14 corvettes. 44 submarines. One montior. 22 minesweepers. 156 trawlers. 14 drifters. One minelayer. Three yachts. Five gunboats.

Three cutters. Lord Bruntisfield added that it was a pity these figures would have to be published without the losses the Navy had been able to inflict on enemy vessels, which would put the figures in a very different light.
