Mrs. H. Barnicoat, of Wellington, and formerly of Kimbolton, member of the Dominion Federation of Women’s Institutes, was a visitor to the combined federation meetings of Alanawatu and Oroua in Palmerston North yesterday. She is the guest of Mrs. W. G. Short, Cheltenham and will proceed to the Thames on Institute business. It transpired during the combined meeting of the Manawatu and Oroua Federation of Women's Institutes yesterday that not only Miss Jerome Spencer, 0.8. E., had been present at the craft exhibition in Canton Hall, London, staged by the English W.L’s which brought the idea to Miss Spencer to spread the movement to this country, but Mrs. G. A. Wenborn, of Rongotea, had also been a visitor and was present yesterday to say so.
