Dropped 4000 lb. Bomb on Factory

(By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright.) LONDON, Oct. 26. Three New Zealanders took part in the Lancasters’ daylight raid against Milan, Flying-Officer R. O. Calvert, D.F.C., of Waikato, Pilot-Officer H. J. Barley, Auckland; Sergeant E. Waters, of Hamilton. Barley dropped a 40001 b. bomb, which the crews call “cookies.” Barley said: “As we climbed to get out of the blast we saw the factory coming skyhigh toward us, so I guess we hit it.” Calvert said: “We made our run at 4000 feet and bombed on the stipulated time. We then went down to SCO feet to allow the gunners to shoot up a couple of factories, also a goods train." New Zealanders also raided Genoa, but the Air Ministry is not releasing their names at present.
