The Maydr of Palmerston North (Mr. A. E. Mansford) continues to make excellent progress towards recovery after his recent operation. Mr. R. Campbell, stationmaster at Palmerston North, is at present on a week’, rest leave. He is being relieved by Mr. G. Croudis, assistant-station-master. Official news has been received by Mr. and Mrs. A. Anderson, of Milson's Line, that their son. Corporal E. E. Anderson, of the 2nd N.Z.E.F., who was reported missing in July, is a prisoner of war In Italy. Cpl. Anderson, who was educated at the Awahou and New’bury Schools and the Palmerston North Technical School, was employed on a farm at Kiwitea before his enlistment. He saw service in Fiji, and left for the Middle East in June, 1941. His eldest brother, Gunner W. L Anderson, is also serving with the N.Z.E.F., and his youngest brother. Gunner D. A. Anderson is now in camp in New Zealand after serving in the Pacific.
