Women’s Institutes

NAUMAI The May meeting was presided over by Mrs. Foananga. Mrs. Reihana, of Motuiti, demonstrated the making of kits, taniko belts and head-band*. Misses Foananga and Durie were the hostesses for the day. MILSON Mrs. Murphy presided at the May meeting which took the form of a social £ afternoon. There was a large attendance of members and friends and six new members were welcomed. Mrs. Child presented the report of the federation meeting. Items were rendered by Mrs. M. Dymock (elocutionary), Mesdames Lyon and Bird (9oloe), Mesdames Riddle and Bigham (pianoforte duets), and charades by the drama circle. Circle reports were given by Mrs. Campbell (sewing), Mrs. Wood (soldiers’ parcels), Mrs. Penketh (hospital visiting), Mrs. Anderson (gardening), and Mlsb Terry (drama). The hostesses for the June meeting are Mesdames Dymock, 11. E. Drake, Eaton, Field, Ellis, Faulding, Fleck, Ferguson, Fi'aser (2), Gamer, Gilby, Gore, Grjgg, Hammond and Miss Garner^
