Airman Entertained at Aorangi

The homo of Mr. and Mrs. G. Parker at Aorangi was the scene recently of a delightful social evening given In honour of L.A.C. Errol Taylor, of the R.N.Z.A.F. The di'awing-rooin was brightened with cheery log fires and colourful chrysanthemums and competitions, dancing and musical items were features of the evening. Competition winners were Miss Palmer and the guest of honour. Mr. P. Whiteman, in a very bright speech, made L.A.C. Taylor* a presentation on behalf of residents of the district and welcomed back A.C.I Walter Stevenson, who recently returned from Singapore. He expressed the gathering’s thanks to Mr. and Mrs. Parker, Aorangi’s popular host and hostess, for their generous hospitality in opening their home for the occasion. A dainty supper was handed round [and a pleasant evening terminated with “Auld Lang Syne.”
