INTER-CLUB MATCHES The following are the results of the first of the Manawatu Croquet Association’s inter-club matches for the 1940-41 season:—

Foxton v. Manawatu (played at Northern; Foxton players mentioned first). —Singles: Mrs. Walls beat Mrs. Turner, 21—18; Mrs. Bryant beat Mrs. Davison, 26 —13. Doubles: Mesdames Walls and Robertson lost to Mesdames Nortliey and Christmas, 22 —26; Mesdames Bryant and Edwards beat Mesdames Davison and Stevens, 21 —16. Foxton 90 points, Manawatu 73. Kimbolton v. Levin (played at Manawatu greens; Kimbolton players mentioned first).—Singles: Mrs. Marshall lost to Mrs. Palmer, 13 —26; Mrs. Murray lost to Mrs. Telford, 19—26. Doubles; Mesdames Smith and Gerke beat Mesdames Pink and Mudgway, 26—1; Mesdames Smith and Gerko lost to Mesdames Bagnie and Fraser. 15—26.

Kimbolton 73 points, Levin 79. Northern v. Woodville (played at Takaro; Northern players mentioned first). —Singles: Mrs. Lee tied with Mrs. McCarthy, 23-all; Mrs. Walker lost to Mrs. Houghton, 23—26. Doubles: Mesdames Moxon and Prentice lost to Mesdames McCarthy and Jamieson, 22—24; Mesdames West and Bowie lost to Mrs. Gardner and partner, 20 —25. Northern 88 points, Woodville 98.

Feilding v. Takaro (played at Oroua; Feilding players mentioned first). — Singles: Mrs. Jarrett beat Mrs. Jamieson, 17—14; Mrs. Rogers beat Mrs. Spooner, 26—11. Doubles: Mrs. Haywood and Miss Bartholomew lost to Mesdames .bail and Smith, 14 —26; Mesdames Burne and Jones beat Mes dames Lyall ancl Morgan, 26—20. Feilding 83 points, Takaro 71. A Bennett button match was played at Manawatu greens on Monday, Mesdames Turner and Davidson beating Mesdames Christmas and Stevens, 26—24.
