Mrs. Rowe, of Nelson, foundation member of the Wellington branch of the League of Mothers, was welcomed as a visitor at monthly meeting ot' the Palmerston North branch yesterday. Mrs. G. G. Hancox, of Masterton, was a visitor to Palmerston North this week for the golden wedding celebration of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Wilkinson, Elmira Avenue, and returned to the Wairarapa yesterday. Visitors to Levin for the Speirs-Law wedding were: Mrs. W. W. Oberer, Ngakuru, Rotorua; Miss D. Broomfield, Girls* College, Wanganui; Mrs. Adkin, Khandallah, Wellington; and Mr. W. H. Denton, “Fern Hill,** Wellington. Members of th% Palmerston North branch of the League of Mothers yesterday expressed pleasure that n. member, Mrs. J. A. Wilkinson, was recovering from her recent illness and decided to send congratulations and flowers to Mr. and Mrs. Wilkinson, who this week celebrated the golden anniversary of their wedding. On Wednesday evening a successful dance was held by the Junior National Party in the club rooms. There was a large number of Air Force and Army men present, and modern and old-time dances were featured. The room had been decorated by members of the club with blue irises.
