Papatawa Patriotic Ball
SUCCESSFUL EVENT The grand patriotic bail held in the Papatawa Hall on Monday evening was largely attended and the Papatawa Patriotic Society’s funds will benefit considerably as a result. No effort had been spared to ensure the success of the function and the floor was in good order for dancing to Fairbrother’s music. Messrs L. Spelman and L. Gleadow supplied enjoyable extras. A Monte Carlo waltz was won by Mr. and _
Mrs. S. A. Davies, while Mr. R. Cunningham and Miss D. Watkins were the lucky couple in the lucky Gay Gordons. The president, Mr. E. D. Cattanach, briefly expressed the society’s thanks for the manner in which the event was supported und thanked those who had assisted in making the function the success that it undoubtedly was. Mr. W. Pirie was an efficient M.C.
