Soft Pedal on Honking Horns

I NOISE OUTPUT TO BE REDUCED (British Official Wireless.) Received Thursday, 9.20 p.m. RUGBY, July 20. An agreement reached between Rt. Hon. L. Burgiu (Minister of Transport) and manufacturers of motor horns will limit the noise output of horns in future. An undertaking hds been given to tho Minister that after October 1 manufacturers will not offer for sale instruments with a loudness under specilied conditions of test exceeding a hundred phons except iu the case of the wind-driven typo, of instrument for which the figure is to be 105 phons. Vehicle manufacturers will co-operate by fitting only horns that comply with the ogreed standard.
