The Dominiou Auctioneering Co., Ltd., Palmerston North, reports conducting a very buoyant sale of pigs and poultry at their usual weekly fair held on Thursday. Pigs were in exceptionally good demand, weaners realising up to 18s 6d, stores to 30s, and young porkers to 445. Poultry also sold well, 8.0. hens realising 4s with a corresponding good demand for other lines. Fruit was in short supply resulting in higher prices being realised. Exceptionally heavy supplies of vegetables came forward, a considerable reduction in prices being noted. Poultry.—Heavy 8.0. hens, 8s to 8s 4d per pair; best W.L. hens, 5s 6d to 6s 6d per pair; light hens, 4s to 5s per pair; young ducks, 7s Cd to 8s 6d per pair; old ducks, 5s to Cs 6d per pair; pullets, 4s 5d to 5s 2d each; breeding cockerels, heavy 8s to 9s per pair, light 6s to 7s per pair.
